CJ, judges to discuss HoR declaration
KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Dilip Kumar Paudel on Sunday said he will hold a discussion with judges of the Supreme Court on the recent declaration of the House of Representatives to find out whether the declaration is part of the constitution and whether it can curtail the apex court’s powers or not. Chief Justice Paudel said he would hold a discussion on how to take the declaration and to find out whether it is above the Constitution or not. “Without holding a discussion, I cannot say whether this curtails the Supreme Cour-t’s power on judicial review or not,” Paudel told journalists after a programme on the golden jubilee celebration of the SC. — HNS
Dr Ojha dead
MAHENDRANAGAR: Dr Devi Prasad Ojha, litterateur, senior journalist and academician at the Royal Nepal Academy, passed away on Saturday night. Ojha, 77, had been suffering from respiratory problems. His last rites were performed by the Mahakali River on Sunday. — RSS

BHAKTAPUR: Speakers at an interaction programme on “Law and order and its management” organised at Madhyapur Thimi by the Madhyapur Thimi Police Office said the relations between the police and the locals should be cordial in order to help stop theft, dacoity and other crimes. — RSS
