Writ against FENAJ

KATHMANDU: A writ petition was produced in the Supreme Court on Thursday, seeking its order to declare invalid the recently-concluded convention of the Federation of National Journalists (FENAJ), but the SC administration said it will decide whether or not to register the petition on Friday. Members of the FENAJ, Shreeram Singh and Ramchandra Basnet, had filed the petition, seeking the apex court order to the Ministry of Information, Election Committee and newly-elected leadership under Nirodh Raj Pandey to declare the election to the body invalid. — HNS

Drivers penalised

KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police Office penalised 657 operators of vehicles for violating traffic rules in roads of Kathmandu district from March 14 to March 15. Six road accidents were reported during the period in which seven people were hurt. — RSS
