IN BRIEF

Patient asks for help

KATHMANDU: Krishna Dutta Bhatta is pleading for life from bed number 27, male ward, of the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, as both his kidneys have failed. Dr Manoj Bhattarai says Bhatta needs a permanent renal replacement therapy, which will cost Bhatta Rs 30,000 every month. Given his socio-economic status, Bhatta cannot afford such a costly treatment on his own. β€œAny help from generous individuals and institutions will be highly appreciated,” Dr Bhattarai said in a letter. Harka Bahadur Ayer, a friend of Bhatta, says he needs about one million rupees to provide treatment to Bhatta. Harka can be contacted at 4232387. β€” HNS
