Sobhraj case
Kathmandu: The Bhaktapur District Court (BDC) said on Friday it would reopen a separate murder case against Charles Gurumukh Sobhraj. It will reopen the case against Sobhraj for murdering Canadian Laurent Armond Carriere along with American Connie Jo Bronzich in 1975. “We will reopen the case soon,” BDC registrar Tek Narayan Kunwar said. According to him, the Kathmandu District Court recently forwarded the 30-year-old case after finding the files regarding the case. Sobhraj is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Bronzich. — HNS
Two-year-old drowns
LALITPUR: A two-year-old child drowned in a pond at Asarang-1, Lalitpur. Police said Shanta Maya, daug-hter of Lal Bahadur Tamang, was found dead in the pond to be used for brick kilns, on Thursday. — HNS
