Two held for stabbing

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Police Office arrested two persons on charge of stabbing Umesh Niraula, 46, at Gaurighat on Sunday. Police said that Jayaram Baral and Ajay Gurung were arrested from their rented rooms at Gaurighat. They allegedly stabbed Niraula when he was returning to his room on Saturday evening. Niraula hails from Morang district. — HNS

Pickpocket found dead

KATHMANDU: Prem Karki, 35, a permanent resident of Jhapa district, who was engaged in pickpocketing in the capital was found dead at Tundikhel at 7:00 am on Saturday, police said. The reason behind his death is being investigated, according to police. — RSS

Hut catches fire

KATHMANDU: Juntara Magar’s hut caught fire in Kathmandu on Sunday morning. Property worth Rs 300,000 was gutted, police said. The cause of the fire is not yet known. The fire was brought under control with the help of locals. Magar hails from Rolpa but he was staying at Durgadevimarg, KMC-6, for the last six years. — HNS
