Vikshu Mahasthavir dead

BHAKTAPUR: Vikshu Samyak Jyoti Mahasthavir, whose contribution to the extension and development of the Buddhist religion and culture, passed away at his residence on Thursday. He was 82. Vikshu Mahasthavir, who was the founder of the Dipankar Gyanmala Hymn Khala, Kathmandu, and chairman of the Buddha jayanti celebration committee in the past years, started preaching in 2003 BS. — RSS

Three held with drugs

KATHMANDU: The police team posted at Baneswor under the law implementation for drug control have arrested three persons in different places in the area in possession of drugs. Among those held is a 35-year-old Sonalal Jayasawal, a resident of Motihari, India, who is said to have been selling drugs in Thamel, Cheetrapati and Soharakhutte. — RSS
