Five hurt in road mishap

KATHMANDU: Five persons were injured in a road accident that took place at the Sitapaila road here on Sunday. The accident involved a Tata mobile owned by theRajdhani daily, police said, adding the condition of one of the injured, Kumar Dahal,35, living in Sarswatinagar, Kathmandu, is said to be critical. — RSS

Manasalu school’s anniv

KATHMANDU: Manasalu public school at Nayabazaar celebrated its fourth anniversary on Saturday. On the occasion, noted singers Badri Pangeni and Sarita Adhikari presented a cultural programme. Basnet named Heifer rep

KATHMANDU: Dr Prabha Basnet, member secretary of the Social Welfare Council (SWC), has been nominated as the representative of Heifer International

(HI) from the Asia/South Pacific region, according to a press release issued by the council. HI is a US-based INGO working in the field of livestock and rural development activities. The release added that Basnet is the first Nepali to be elected to the post. — HNS
