Indian aid for KU

KATHMANDU: The government of India has sanctioned Rs 28.9 million for the construction of a multi-purpose auditorium for Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Kavre, according to a press release issued here on Thursday by the Indian Embassy. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the embassy, Dhulikhel Municipality and Kathmandu University. The embassy hoped that the proposed auditorium would enhance the academic and cultural environment at the university. — HNS

Machhindranath trust

KATHMANDU: The District Development Committee (DDC) and Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City (LMC) have decided to set up a trust which will bear medical expenses of those injured during the procession of the Rato Machhindranath. The chariot of Rato Machhindranath, which is pulled along the streets of Patan, has caused injury to several people in the previous years. — HNS
