Lightning kills one
KATHMANDU: Sher Bahadur Lama, 24, was killed on Monday when lightning struck his house at Baluwa in Kathmandu. Police said four others escaped unhurt. The thunderbolt also damaged two storied house of Sahila Lama of the same village. — HNS
Rights body’s concern
KATHMANDU: The Human Rights and Peace Society has expressed its concern over the authorities’ negligence in providing medical treatment to the leaders under house arrest. Study on water sources
KATHMANDU: The Department of Drinking Water and Sewage is going to conduct a study on the sources of water in Kathmandu to find out whether the condition of water has improved. A study conducted last year showed the water sources in Kathmandu were heavily polluted. —HNS
