KATHMANDU: The Indian Embassy said that its attention has been drawn towards the statement made by Minister without portfolio Satya Narayan Mandal.

During a press conference organised in Biratnagar on Monday, Mandal had accused India of making preparations to send armies without uniform to further its interests in Nepal.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the Embassy said that the comments are provocative, baseless and ill-intentioned.

As the remarks were made by a responsible person holding the post of minister, it could adversely effect the cordial relations between India and Nepal, the statement reads.

The Embassy strongly condemned the comments, and urges all responsible persons to refrain from doing or saying anything that may affect the age-old relationship between India and Nepal.

India seeks peace, stability and prosperity for people of Nepal.India has constantly supported the government and people of Nepal in their efforts to attain these objectives, and shall continue to do so, the statement further reads.
