KATHMANDU, JANUARY 4
Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar arrived in Kathmandu this morning. He landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in a special plane of the Indian Air Force.
He was welcomed at the airport by the Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud and other officials of the foreign ministry.
Dr Jaishankar is in Nepal at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs N.P. Saud to co-chair the 7th meeting of the India-Nepal Joint Commission. The visit is planned to last until January 5.
This is his second visit to Nepal as an External Affairs Minister of India.
During his visit Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML chair KP Sharma Oli among others.
