Indian mission celebrates Republic Day

Kathmandu, January 26:

India’s ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood today hosted a luncheon reception to mark the 60th Republic Day of India.

He also released a publication “Being Together: Sixty Years of Development Partnership.”

The publication highlights the growth and diversification of India-Nepal economic cooperation programme over the years.

At the reception, ambassador Sood read out an address by the President of India, which stressed among other things, India’s commitment to establish ties of friendship with all countries and to work for peace and stability and its desire to combat terrorism and fundamentalism through collective efforts.

On the occasion, the government of India gifted 22 ambulances, three special purpose mobile medical vans and four buses worth Rs 23.20 million to various hospitals, non-profitable charity organisations and educational institutions in different parts of Nepal, stated a press release issued by the Indian embassy here today.
