KATHMANDU, JUNE 27

The High Court Patan has issued an order in the name of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) not to execute its decision to seek clarification from Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah.

A divisional bench of justices Gokarna Dangi and Jagadish Ghimire on Tuesday issued interim order to the CAAN to not execute its June 15 decision to demand clarification from mayor Balen over June 16 letter, said Spokesperson and Deputy Registrar of the High Court Patan, Mandira Shahi.

"The interim order issued earlier to hold the CAAN decision to seek clarification from mayor Balen has been given continuity", Shahi said.

The KMC city police had taken under control the construction materials, including fencing wires from CAAN building construction site stating that the under-construction building of CAAN nearby the Tribhuvan International Airport was being built without approval its sketch.

The CAAN had sought justification from mayor Balen for unofficially entering into the airport area. Challenging the CAAN's decision, mayor Balen had registered a petition at the High Court Patan.

Earlier, on June 22, a single bench of Justice Dhir Bahadur Chand had issued short-term interim order to halt execution of the CAAN's letter and asked both the parties to come for discussion on the matter for June 27.
