KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 13

Wongchhu Peak Promotion Pvt. Ltd is organizing a climbing completion on November 06 in Kathmandu.

According to a statement issued by the organizer, Musa Masala Intermediate Lead Climbing Competition – 2023 will be held at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, Mahankal, Bouddha.

"The event is sponsored by Musa Masala and is technically supported by Nepal Sports Climbing Center," Managing Director at Wongchhu Peak Promotion, Lakpa Sherpa, said.

The whole-day event will start from 6:00am on November 06 and participants of 15 to 60 years of age having basic wall climbing skills could participate, she said.

The event which is co-sponsored by Nirvana, Raeko, Makalu e Traders & Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd, Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, Himalayan Rescue Association, Scarpa, Beal, LA Sportiva, Camp, Black Diamond, Hotel Yak & Yeti, Hotel Mulberry and The Soaltee Hotel, will have male and female category.

"In each category, winners will get a cash prize of NRS 25,000, 1-year membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from sponsors while first runner up will get a cash prize of NRS 15,000, 6-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from sponsors as well as the second runner up will be given a cash prize of NRS 10,000, 3-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from the sponsors," Lakpa shared.

Pem Dorjee Sherpa and Moni Sherpa, first couple to get married on the top of Mt. Everest and Kami Sherpa, first TV reporter to broadcast live from top of the Mt. Everest are also the individual sponsors of the event, she added.

The event, which is supported by the National Sports Council and Nepal Olympic Committee, aims to promote and develop climbing skills of Nepali climbers, enabling them to compete at an international level, she shared.

The wall climbing competition for Beginners conducted last year on October 16th was also sponsored by Musa Masala and organized by Wongchhu Peak Promotion Pvt. Ltd at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, Mahankal, Bouddha, Kathmandu, she said.
