IOE students end lock-out
Kathmandu, August 7:
The lock-out in the Institute of Engineering admission committee lifted today after the Tribhuvan University Executive Council endorsed the IOE affiliation to the Kathford International College of Engineering and Management in the next academic session, on condition they fulfil the criteria.
The TU executive council also gave the nod for BE Electronics and BE Electrical courses in the Himalayan College of Engineering and Kathmandu Engineering College, respectively from the next session.
IOE students locked out the dean’s office and Institute of Engineering (IOE) admission committee’s office since July 19 to demand affiliation to the new engineering college unconditionally.
IOE officials, including Suman Nanda Vaidhya the campus chief of Pulchowk Campus and representatives of student bodies including the Free Students’ Union, Nepal Students’ Union, All Nepal National Free Students’ Union and Nepal Students’ Union signed the agreement to end the lock-out.
