Irate consumers move SC against Nepal Telecom

Kathmandu, November 16:

A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed at the Supreme Court against the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Nepal Telecom and Nepal Telecom Authority, seeking the apex court’s order to provide mobile services in a proper manner.

Advocates Hari Bahadur Mainali, Shreedhar Ngakhushi Shrestha and Maitighar resident Rajan Prasad Banjara jointly filed the PIL. The petitioners sought an apex court order to the authorities to provide compensation to all customers about their loss due to bad service. They claimed though the NTC distributed mobile phones to people, there are problems in their use. Problems persist in contacting cell-users and in receiving calls on mobiles.
