KATHMANDU:  A jailbird, convicted of trading rhino ivories, died during treatment at the Bir Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Komal Bahadur Praja (50), also known as Jagire Kaila, of Korak-9  in Chitwan district.

Praja was rushed to the hospital after he suddenly vomited and fell sick, said police.

According to police, Praja was doing his time at the Central Jail in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11.
