Kathmandu, August 16:

Japan, Bangladesh and Pakistan have congratulated newly- elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Issuing a press statement, the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu hoped that the peace process would move forward through concerted efforts of all political parties.

“The Government of Japan always has a firm commitment to the democratisation process, for peace and prosperity in Nepal,” the statement said, adding that Japan hopes that the new leadership will frame a new constitution by forging consensus among all political parties.

Japan has also expressed commitment to assist Nepal’s efforts towards this goal, and expected that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would be further consolidated.

Greeting the newly-elected Prime Minister, Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed, chief adviser of Bangladesh, believed that the multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries would broaden and deepen during Dahal’s tenure.

Pakistan has also greeted PM Dahal.

“On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan and on my own behalf, I extend my heartiest felicitation to you,” said Pakistan’s Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.

Gillani hoped that Nepal would enter a new area of peace, progress and prosperity under Dahal’s sagacious leadership.
