Japanese MPs meet PM
Kathmandu, April 11:
Japanese parliamentarians, who are here on a poll observation mission, met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala this morning and handed over Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda’s message to him.
The Japanese parliamentarians Tadahiko Ito and Gaku Hashimoto were here on a three-day visit, while a 24-member Japanese Election Observation Mission is in Kathmandu.
Holding a press meet today, they reiterated to continue Japan’s support to Nepal even after the polls. While in Kathmandu, they visited at least 10 polling stations in Kathmandu. “We found the election peaceful and voters very enthusiastic,” they said.
They also met with various political party leaders, chief election commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokharel and representatives of the FNCCI.
Meanwhile, Indian envoy to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukherjee called on PM Koirala today.
Mukherjee congratulated the PM on the peaceful holding of CA polls during the meeting at the PM’s quarters at Baluwatar, RSS reported.
