Property worth Rs 2.5 million gutted in Balaju jewellery shop fire

KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday said property worth Rs 2.5 million were gutted when a jewellery shop caught fire at Bypass Chok in Balaju area, KMC-16.

According to police, the shop "Ashta Narayan Jewellers" operated by Narayan Diyali caught fire destroying jewelleries in the shop today.

Police said that the fire sparked from the leakage in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder kept in the shop.

It has been learnt that the security personnel with the help of locals brought the flame under control.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is undreway, said police.
