Kamana press catches fire, destroys machinery worth Rs 40 mln

KATHMANDU: The press of Kamana News Publications Pvt Ltd caught fire on Friday evening, destroying machinery and newsprint worth Rs 40 million.

The printing press located in Bhimsensthan, KMC-19 had caught the fire yesterday, reportedly due to gas leakage.

Three fire brigades assisted by personnel from Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force as well as locals had contained the fire.

Further investigation is underway.

The publication houses publishes Nepal Samacharpatra vernacular daily and Kamana cine magazine among others.
