Kapri allotted duties of examination controller

Kathmandu, February 15

The Ministry of Education has assigned the responsibility of examination controller at the Office of the Controller of Examinations to joint-secretary Krishna Prasad Kapri after erstwhile examination controller Khagendra Nepal suffered a brain stroke last week.

Nepal had suffered a stroke on February 12 while he was printing the question papers of the upcoming School Leaving Certificate exam at the security presses in Janak Education Materials Centre.

Senior officials from the confidential section, including Nepal, had been to the JEMC press on February 8 to print the question papers when Nepal suddenly fell unconscious due to the stroke.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital.

A press statement issued by MoE yesterday said the ministry had decided to assign the responsibility of examination controller to Kapri, who is the director of the Central Regional Education Directorate, keeping in mind the sensitivity of SLC exam and its preparations.

More than 600,000 examinees are going to appear in the SLC exam that is slated to begin from March 31 this year.

The government has decided to introduce letter grading system in SLC results this session onwards.
