KMC’s tax collection surpasses target

Kathmandu, June 16

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has collected more revenue than its target from advertisement tax in 11 months of current fiscal.

KMC has so far collected Rs 65.5 million, which is 15.5 million more than the set target of Rs 50 million, said KMC Revenue Division Chief Druba Kafle, adding that the metropolis had collected Rs 41.7 million in the fiscal 2015/16. KMC has been clamping down on companies flouting advertisement regulation and contributing to visual pollution in the city.

It took action against companies erecting hoarding boards in public places and setting up big advertisement boards without ensuring safety measures.
