KUKL says Melamchi water to be supplied outside Ring Road

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited would supply the drinking water of the Melamchi Water Supply Project outside of Ring Road in the Kathmandu Valley.

KUKL General Manager Dr Mahesh Prasad Bhattarai said at the fifth annual general meeting of the KUKL in the Capital on Sunday.

GM Bhattarai said KUKL is managing to supply around 110 million litres of water daily against the demands of 400 million litres of water in the Capital.

Furthermore, he said that three tube wells will be constructed in addition in the current fiscal year to facilitate water supply system for the Valley dwellers.

KUKL is currently supplying water to the areas facing water shortage through 21 tankers daily in the Valley.

Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Bhim Prasad Upadhyay, expressed his commitment to deliver Melamchi's water in the Valley by mid-October.
