Kathmandu valley logs 287 new cases of coronavirus infection on Friday

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley registered as many as 287 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Thursday.

Of the total 782 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 202 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 76 and nine infections respectively.

Of those newly infected in the valley, 121 are females while 166 are males.

Currently, there are 3,944 active infections in Kathmandu, 743 in Lalitpur, and 311 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 9,317.

So far, 453 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 97 in Bhaktapur, and 140 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 1,765.

Meanwhile, a total of 89,874 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu while 13,840 have recovered in Lalitpur, and 8,110 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski are the three districts to have over 500 active cases. Likewise, Manang is the only district with zero live infections at present.
