KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 14

The movement of people and traffic is steadily increasing in the Kathmandu Valley following the conclusion of the Bijaya Dashami festival.

Since October 10, traffic had reduced during the seven-day Dashain celebrations, but has now picked up as people visit relatives for tika and jamara. Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, spokesman for the District Police Range Kathmandu, noted that traffic today is heavier compared to the past few days.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharat Bahadur Bohara, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, mentioned that no major road accidents occurred in the Valley during Dashain, which he considered a positive outcome.

As people begin returning to Kathmandu after celebrating the festival in their hometowns, both vehicular traffic and the number of people on the streets have increased.
