Kathmandu, March 17:

The Public Works Department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is working to construct a parking lot in Tundikhel Open Air Theatre. “We started the work three weeks ago. A tender bid has been called for gravelling the parking area, whose width will range between eight to 20 metres,” said Pradip Gautam, an engineer at the PWD. The 4607-square metre parking space can accommodate 125 two-wheelers, 135 four wheelers and 10 heavy vehicles at a time. The parking lot will have an entry at the side of Bir Hospital and an exit at the side of Old Bus Park. The metropolis has allocated a budget of Rs 1 million for gravelling the parking area.
