Kirtipur man held on charge of robbery
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a robbery case, from Kalanki of Kathmandu district on Saturday.
The alleged has been identified as Suman Maharjan (45) of Kirtipur-20, currently living in Halchok.
According to police, Maharjan had robbed Tej Narayan Shrestha (45) of Thakdhol, Nagarjun-6 while he was returning home after attending a wedding reception at Syuchatar on December 4.
He had injured Shrestha by attacking him with stones and bricks and had robbed him of a half-tola gold ring, a two-tola gold chain, a cellphone and Rs 25,000 cash.
A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Swayambhu had arrested Maharjan with the gold ring and the cellphone while it has been learnt that Shrestha had swallowed the two-tola gold chain.
Police said they have sent him to the Bir Hospital for surgery.
Meanwhile, police are further investigating into the case.
