KATHMANDU, MAY 4
Keeping in mind the sharp spike in daily Covid-cases, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has formed a seven-member committee that will submit its proposal with appropriate suggestions to build a well-equipped hospital with isolation facility in Kathmandu district.
The Committee chaired by KMC ward no 3 chief Deepak KC include ward no 6 chair Dipendra Lama, ward no 7 chair Sudda Kumar Dangol, ward no 22 chair Chinikaji Maharjan, ward no 30 chair Dal Bahadur Karki and ward no 31 chair Narayan Bhandari.
The Monday meeting of KMC executives had discussed measures to contain the spread of the steeply spiking pandemic.
It was concluded at the meeting that establishment of a well-equipped Covid-19 treatment facility would help stem the ongoing second wave while taking some weight off the under pressure health system.
The Committee will further deliberate on the modality in which isolation facilities will be run, modes of detection and subsequent treatments.
Furthermore, public health experts Dr Arjun Karki, Dr Ganesh Gurung, Dr Anup Subedi and Dr Sharad Onta would be proposed to assist KMC's endeavours in managing the pandemic woes.
