The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to launch homestay services in the ancient towns of Handigaon and Basantapur in the Kathmandu Valley.
Unveiling the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 on Friday, Mayor Balen Shah shared the policy to include Handigaon in the World Heritage List. Mayor Shah mentioned that the KMC intends to manage Boudhanath and Swayambhunath on its own.
According to the policies and programs, the KMC will enforce strict regulations on the use of tobacco and alcohol, and will monitor food quality.
