Koirala: Unity remedy for anarchy

LALITPUR: President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala stressed on the need for consensus, collaboration and unity among political parties to get the country rid of anarchy.

At a greeting exchange programme on the occasion of New Year-2066 organised by Nepal Trade Union Congress-Independent (NTUC-I) on Saturday, he said the country is moving ahead with serious state of affairs, thus all should unite to save the country from harm. While mentioning that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ''Prachanda'' should direct the country to right direction, Koirala said the nation would see ‘disaster’ provided he failed to take this on board. He also expressed commitment to include the issues and rights of trade unions in the new constitution. At the same programme, NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said due to the unending impunity in the country, peace process and Loktantra are in peril. NTUC-I chairman Laxman Bahadur Basnet said all workers should stay united to get their rights incorporated in the new constitution.
