KATHMANDU: UNMIN chief Karin Landgren held talks with UCPN-Maoist vice chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai at the latter’s residence in Shantinagar, New Baneshwor on Friday morning.

According to sources, the UNMIN chief expressed her concern over the PLA fighters’ issues for their integration and the management before promulgation of the new constitution. In response Bhattarai assured her that the peace process and the statute drafting process will go ahead simultaneously.

However, the Maoist vice chairman objected to the recent reports that the government is preparing to stop the salaries of the PLA combatants. He added that if the government makes this move, it would breach the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
