Lawmakers deliver views on contemporary issues in Parliament meeting

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have put forth their views on various contemporary issues in today's Parliament meeting.

Speaking at a special hour of the meeting, Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Rajendra Prasad Lingden drew the attention of the government to specify the dual provision of foreign aid and government budget under some headings. He referred to few international non-government organisations showing interest unnecessarily in some issues.

Lawmaker Prabhu Sah called for the attention of government to the abduction and subsequent murder of a 12-year-old child in Katahariya Municipality of Rautahat district recently, demanding action against the guilty.

Likewise, parliamentarian Durga Poudel drew the attention of the concerned authorities to predicaments facing Nepali migrant workers in foreign countries.

Lawmakers Eklal Miya and Ruhi Naj demanded declaration of national public holiday on Eid, a Muslim festival.

Similarly, parliamentarian Ganesh Pahari demanded fulfillment of the demands of earthquake survivors from Sindhuli and of farmers affected by the Mid-Hill Highway expansion, while lawmaker Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary urged timely completion of Dhangadhi-Attaria six lanes road project.
