Constitution amendment, fresh poll among others suggested for govt formation

KATHMANDU: Lawyers and constitution experts on Sunday suggested various options to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on resolving the complication surfaced in formation of the new government.

According to Oli's press advisor Pramod Dahal, the lawyers present at a meeting suggested three major options including amendment to the Constitution and announcement to hold the fresh parliamentary election.

Therefore, another amendment to the Constitution was necessary, they suggested.

Else, the Prime Minister can announce date for the fresh elections after applying the constitutional provision of Article 305 to remove difficulties.

Attorney General Hari Phuyal, senior advocates Bishwo Kanta Mainali and Chandra Kanta Gyawali, advocates Sunil Pokharel, Govinda Bandi and Ramesh Badal were among the lawyers consulted.
