Lharkyal Lama's suspension from House withdrawn

KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti on Friday informed the Parliament that CPN Maoist Centre lawmaker Lharkyal Lama's suspension at the House has been withdrawn.

Lama was suspended from the House after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority charged him in a corruption case.

The Special Court on Tuesday had acquitted him of corruption charges.

The CIAA had filed the graft case against Lama at the Special Court with a claim that properties worth Rs 100 million out of his Rs 300 million fortune was not on a par with his legal source of income.

Discussion on impeachment motion continues

Meanwhile, the Parliament is continuing discussions on the impeachment motion filed against the CIAA Chief Lok Man Singh Karki today as well.

Meanwhile, the Company Act (First Amendment) Bill has been presented in the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today.

Tabling the bill, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi said that the bill contained provisions by which people could register an industry through electronic means from home.

He added that the bill had provisions for attracting the foreign direct investment.

The National Women Commission Bill has also been tabled in the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today.
