LMC bettering performance

Three weekly progress reports forwarded by the Lalitpur sub-metropolitan city (LMC) to the Ministry of Local Development suggest that it is making progress in terms of service delivery. The LMC sends progress reports to the ministry every Wednesday.
While construction of 25 buildings was permitted between March 1 and March 7, the number increased to 34 this week, states the report. While 320 recommendations were made to meet the public’s demand on the first week, 495 recommendations were made this week. While the LMC allotted Rs 1.09 million on infrastructure this week, it had allotted Rs 0.85 million on the same topic on the first week. LMC’s internal income also increased to Rs 2.1 million this week, which was Rs 1.09 million on the first week.
According to its citizen charter, the LMC has been providing its services effectively. Ashok Shrestha, the spokesperson for the LMC, said, “The necessity to submit weekly report has made everyone work quickly.”
