Load shedding increases again

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased load shedding by another four hours from Wednesday. It has now gone up to 16 hours per week.

According to chief of power distribution centre of the NEA Sher Singh Bhat, the load shedding has to increase due to the decrease in the level of water in the rivers. He added that the snow cannot melt due to the cold climate with low temperatures. He informed that the recent schedule will be reviewed and the load shedding hours may be increased further in November -December.

However, the NEA claimed that this year the load shedding will be lower than the previous year. The NEA has been planning to import 90 Megawatt electricity from India.
