Kathmandu, January 26:

With an aim to creating awareness about waste disposal, locals today cleaned the Dallu residential area.

The awareness campaign was organised at the initiation of the Dallu Aawas Sthaniya Sahayog Samittee (DASSS). More than 500 locals, including Nepal Army personnel, cleaned up the area and collected around 12 vans full of waste material.

Ishwor Man Dangol, president of DASSS, said the problem of waste disposal has hit the area.

“Locals should take initiation to clean their areas,” he said, adding the campaign is aimed at making them understand that it is their responsibility to keep their locality clean.
