Mahara briefs China visit

KATHMANDU: Chief of foreign affairs of UCPN-Maoist Krishna Bahadur Mahara Saturday urged not to suspect on a week-long high level China trip of his party. Mahara in an interaction programme in the capital said that the visit was scheduled previously. On an invitation of Chinese Communist Party a high level team of UCPN-Maoist including party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Mohan Baidya among others are leaving for China on Sunday. Mahara made it clear that the existing political scenario of the country was not among the main agenda of the trip however it would be focused on tightening the relations between the two communist parties. He also said that his party was in favour of maintaining balanced relation between two neighbouring countries—China and India. As a result this visit would not be affecting the bilateral ties of Nepal with India, added Mahara.
