Mahat for giving top priority to community education

Kathmandu, January 5:

Minister for Finance Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said the system of community education should be

given top priority for increasing the quality and quantitative education in the country.

Speaking at a programme organised by the Chiran-Milan Bishwo Shanti Campus to mark its 14th anniversary, Mahat said by providing quality education, the dream of building a new Nepal can be realised.

On the occasion, founder chairman of the Campus and former Speaker, Daman Nath Dhungana, said all should focus on producing loyal and competent citizens for the nation.

An educationist and active member of the Campus Management Committee, Dr Shambhu Ram Simkhada, who had contributed Rs 1.5 million for the establishment of the campus,

urged the campus family to construct a building, select contextual curriculum and provide quality education.

Chairman of the Committee, Professor Dr Mohan Prasad Lohani, said there were some

400 students in plus two and bachelor levels in the campus, established in 2050 BS.

Dr Simkhada had also donated Rs 1.5 million in a mahayagya organised some five months ago in order to run the Campus. It is said that Rs 4.7 million has been collected through the mahayagya.

Also during the occasion, a souvenir was launched and good students and social workers were honoured.
