Lalitpur, July 9:

Minister for Education and Sports, Radha Krishna Mainali, today said the proposed incorporation of nationalistic education in the school level curriculum aims at making students more aware of the Nepali culture and history.

“The nationalist education will be technical and based on skill and will be introduced in the school curriculum with an aim to make the future citizens of this country independent,” said Mainali at the first Lalitpur district meeting of the National Parents’ Association of Nepal.

“Level of education is comparitively low in Nepal and the people are economically backward. In this context, the nationalist education will help overall development of the people by making them confident and capable,” he said

He appreciated the efforts made by various organisations, including the Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON), the National-PABSON and NPAN, for their contribution to promote education.

He said public schools which have been handed over to school management committee’s at the community levels have shown positive results. “This has also helped keep politics away from the education system.”
