Man loses Rs 1 mln in phony USD exchange in Bhaktapur
KATHMANDU: A 50-year-old man was allegedly swindled of Rs 1 million by an unknown man on the pretext of foreign currency exchange in Bhaktapur.
With an assurance of providing him USD 10,000 in good exchange rate, the suspected conman, whose identity is not known yet, had called Meghanath Dahal of Okhaldhunga, currently residing in Pepsicola of Kathmandu, in Gelalgaun of Changunarayan Municipality.
He, however, handed fake USD banknotes and collected Rs 1 million before running away.
