Man held for demanding Rs 10 m ransom from businessperson
KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested a person on the charge of issuing death threats to an entrepreneur to demand Rs 10 million ransom.
Bidur Paudel (32) from Jeevanpur-5 of Dhading district currently residing in Nayabazaar, Kathmandu was arrested by a team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division for issuing death threats to the operator of Mukul Finance Limited and demanding the ransom from him.
He would use various mobile numbers to call and send SMSes to the victim, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
