KATHMANDU: Police arrested a man on charge of hacking a Facebook page of Image Channel from Nepalgunj of Banke.

Prem Bahadur BK, operator of the Taj Media in Nepalgunj-2, was brought to Kathmandu on Sunday.

BK, a permanent resident of Deudakala-3 of Bardiya district, reportedly hacked the Imagekhabar Facebook page and merged it into another page, the Metropolitan Police Crime Division said in a statement today.

The MPCD had swung into action after the media company had filed a complaint with it.

Investigations had revealed that BK renamed the page as Viralkhabar and continued operating it.

Meanwhile, police confiscated two laptops and a mobile set from him.

Further investigation is underway under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2006.
