KATHMANDU: Police on Friday arrested a person for his alleged involvement in evading customs duty at the Tribhuvan International Airport in possession of illegal gold.

The detainee is Yadav Prasad Dahal (33) from Shreejung-5 of Tehrathum district. Dahal was arrested while he was collecting undeclared gold from Nepali migrant workers returning home.

Four rings, weighing 99 gram in total, were also seized from him. The haul costs around Rs 467,000 police said.

Meanwhile, the case has been referred to the TIA Customs Office for further investigation.
