Man in guise of pastor swindles seven out of Rs 4.75 million
KATHMANDU: A man, residing in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-16, allegedly swindled seven people out of Rs 4.75 million.
Prabek Dangol aka Pavel defrauded them including Ang Chhiri Sherpa of Mali VDC-1 in Dolakha district, currently residing in Bouddha.
Dangol, who had identified himself as a pastor of a church had guaranteed Sherpa and others to send them to the US through his church if each of them paid him Rs 2.5 million.
Moreover, Dangol had issued them forged US visas and flight tickets before he went out of contact.
A team of police deployed from Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested Dangol from Jadibiti of Kathmandu on Wednesday after they were reported of the fraud and forgery carried out by Dangol.
Meanwhile, police have sent the fraud suspect to the Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur for further investigation.
