Man who died after falling into manhole cremated

Shyam Sundar Shrestha, 38, who died after falling into a manhole in Kirtipur, was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
Earlier, police had handed over the body to family members after conducting autopsy at Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital
Subhadra Shrestha, the victim’s sister told The Himalayan Times that police handed over the body to the family at around 12:30pm.
Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Khadka of Kirtipur Police informed that they had yet to receive post-mortem report from the hospital. “It might take more than two days for the hospital to prepare the report.” DSP Khadka added that there was no injuries in the body and that the victim might have died due to the excessive bleeding from the mouth.
Shyam Sundar, a yoga teacher, fell into the manhole which had been left open for six months by Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited. The hole was closed after police retrieved the body early in the morning yesterday.
