Maoists urged to give up arms, go for polls

Kathmandu:

Civil society leaders on Saturday appealed to the Maoists to give up arms and move ahead for the polls.

Addressing the ninth general meeting of the Human Rights and Peace Society, Kathmandu branch, former chairman of the society, Krishna Pahadi, said the Maoists should not say that the polls cannot be held in November. “The seven parties should not isolate the Maoists, instead they should work in unison before the polls,” said former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana.
