Mask expo to be held

Kathmandu, February 22:

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) is all set to organise a national mask exhibition for the first time with a view to preserving cultural heritage.

Prakash Darnal, chief archaeological officer at the Culture Preservation and Promotion Division under the MoCTCA, said masks from different parts of the country would be showcased on the occasion. “As some of the masks are on the verge of extinction, the exhibition will help us gather information about masks which are used for performing various rituals,” said Darnal.

“We will make a public announcement requesting people to take part in the exhibition,” he said.
