KATHMANDU, APRIL 11

With a motive of giving students an exposure to international culinary delights, Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) invited MasterChef Santosh Shah and his team to share their experience and knowledge.

Shah, who was crowned the MasterChef UK: The Professional Rematch, is in Kathmandu along with his fellow finalists Philli Armitage-Mattin, Bart van der Lee, and Alex Webb.

Addressing an interaction event Shah said, "I am extremely delighted to be in NATHM, which is a Centre of Excellence, for the second time especially now with my team." He also praised the Academy for it's continued contribution in producing skilled manpower for the hospitality sector in Nepal.

Likewise, Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale Magar expressed gratitude towards MasterChef Shah for promoting and representing Nepali dishes and Nepal as a country around the world.

After a formal program, Shah and friends were teamed up with NATHM's MasterChef finalists and contested in kitchen to guide and share their experience with participants.

BHM Coordinator Binod Aryal said, each team was given a sack containing various ingredients and time limit of 35 minutes to prepare dishes of their choice, to showcase their innovative skills.

"Working in tandem with MasterChef Santosh Shah and his team would give invaluable experience and confidence to our students in shaping their career in hospitality industry," Aryal stressed.

BHM 4th semester students Nabin Gyawali and Narayan Prasad Pathak---winners of the NATHM's MasterChef competition---were included in Santosh Shah's team.

Likewise, Alisha Prasai and Shreya Ghimire, first runner-up, were teamed-up with Bart van der Lee.

"It was really thrilling experience to come across with MasterChef Shah and fascinating to work with him," one of the participants Nabin Gyawali said.

Sharing his experience with the participants, Shah urged all the other participants to impart this experience and knowledge with other students.

During the event, Philli Armitage-Mattin said, she was elated to share her experience with the college students in Nepal.

Senior instructor Mana Raj Khatri praised all the participants for serving delicacies while the Principal Ram Kailash Bichha thanked the visiting professionals all the way from United Kingdom (UK) for sharing their knowledge and experience with students.
